About This Site
The Castle Park High School Alumni Home Page was created by Andrew T. Malana, Class of 1980.
I wanted to have an online resource so we can keep in touch via the Internet. The main scope of this site is to have the Alumni of CPHS register their e-mail address and home pages if they have one. With so many World Wide Web pages to surf through, I thought it was time for us to have a page of our own. Also, I hope the links on this site will give us a good start to build the best high school alumni home page on the Internet. Please browse through the entire site and e-mail me suggestions and criticism on how I can better serve us. I feel we will probably need another link or two in the future. What do we need?
The "beta" version of this site went online in October of 1996. Since then, the response was more than expected. As more and more found the site through search engines and word of mouth, I felt a more "high-tech" look was needed. I hope the addition of more graphics, such as the red button links, did not discourage any of you. I understand many of us may not have a broadband connection so download times may be long.
The "Verdana" font, available free from Microsoft, was used throughout as well as a preferred screen resolution of 800 x 600 True Color, absolute best at 1024 x 768. Also, I incorporated many of the latest HTML conventions throughout this site with the assistance of Microsoft FrontPage 2000 and Adobe GoLive 5.0. Without it, coding would have taken much longer...then I know there are many of you who can bang out HTML code in your sleep, well...all I can say is that WYSIWYG editors are way cool! Just type and enter the stuff. Boom. Instant HTML. Is not technology cool? Many of you probably have Internet providers that allow space for personal web sites. Find the time to learn the basics of HTML and publish it to the web. Anything. You will find it very rewarding. You never know who in the whole world may come across your site and actually enjoy it. You came across this site, right?
One more important note, if you know anyone who went to Mira Mesa High School in San Diego, CA., check out their alumni home page...Administered by Annabelle C. Salcedo, and co-managed with fellow alumnus Richard Laureano. Please help them and mention you saw their link here, I am sure they will appreciate it.
The entire site is administered during my free time in the confined space of my living/dining room in Tokyo, Japan using the following HTML authoring applications: Microsoft FrontPage 2000, Microsoft Office 2000, Adobe Photoshop 6.0, Adobe GoLive 5.0 and WS_FTP Pro.

One more thing, if there are any Alumni with businesses and would like to advertise here, I will most definitely make room for your company's banner advertisement. Also, donations graciously accepted.
Thanks for making our web site what it is. I will do my very best to keep this page updated and current. If I am on vacation for a length of time, I will e-mail you and post it on the home page.
Shaka,
Andrew T. Malana, Class of 1980
